First Deputy Mayor of the City of Barcelona (Spain)
Born in Barcelona in 1966, First Deputy Mayor of Barcelona since June 2007, and responsible for the Welfare and Territorial Cohesion Area. French and Spanish High School Diploma at the French Lyceum of Barcelona. Graduate in Philosophy for the UB in 1989. Assistant at the UB Students’ Vice-Chancellor (1988-1990). Technician first, and afterwards Director of the UB’s Office of International Relationships (1990-1995).
Technical Advisor for the Department of Youth and Woman of the City of Barcelona (1995-1999). City Councilor for the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi District of City of Barcelona (1999-2003). City Councilor of the District of Ciutat Vella from 2003 until June 2007. Town Councilor of Culture since 4th May 2006 and fifth Deputy Mayor from 15th September, 2006 until June 2007. First Secretary of the PSC (Socialist Party of Catalonia) Federation of Barcelona since October 2008. PSC member since 1984.
