Senior Vice President Corporate Partnerships, New York Giants
John Maguire took over as Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships for the New York Football Giants in January 2009. He began his career in sports in 1989 as Vice President of the Red Sox Radio Network for American Radio Systems in Boston, MA. In his tenure with American Radio Systems he built radio networks for the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots, the Boston Celtics, the Boston Bruins, and the Boston College Eagles. In 1991, he was named Vice President General Manager of Sports Radio WEEI and developed the content platform and network that became the number one rated and revenue station in American from 1995 to present.
Over the years, John has provided consulting, training and development for the New England Patriots, the New York Giants, the Charlotte Bobcats, the Miami Dolphins, CBS Sports, CBS, Disney Radio, The Sporting News Network, and Beasley Broadcasting among others.
From 1998 to 2008 John was the Owner/Operator of 30 mid-market radio stations in the Midwest and Northeast. He has serves as the talent agent for the number one sports and media personality in Boston. He has consulted many media groups on both content and sales development. He has served on the advisory board of the Boston Marathon and was on the Olympics to Boston committee. He was one of the founders of the Travis Roy Foundation, The Jimmy Fund Radiothon, The Tse Tse Art Gallery for Underprivileged Children and Trinity Catholic High School. John has served on the board of directors for three companies, four charities and two schools located all located in New England.
Currently, John is charged with the task of marketing, sales and signage of the largest stadium project in North America for the new Meadowlands Stadium, home of the New York Football Giants and the New York Jets. The estimated $1.6 billion dollar undertaking is slated to open in April 20, 2010. New York’s premier venue will attempt to attract such events as 2018 FIFA World Cup to which it was named a finalist and the 2014 NFL Super Bowl.
