Mr Samaranch Jr is the CEO and founding partner of GBS Finanzas, one of Spain’s largest investment banking firms.
After graduating from Barcelona University with a degree in industrial engineering and from New York University with an MBA he worked for International Flavours & Fragrances as an accounts director. Between 1985 and 1989 he was a senior partner at The First Boston Corporation, working on projects in Spain and Latin America. Prior to the founding of GBS Finanzas he was vice-president of S.G. Warburg España.
He is currently sits on the board at ACESA-Abertis and is a member of the advisory boards at USP Hospitales and AON Gil y Carvajal.
A member of the International Olympic Committee, he is also vice-president of the Real Automóvil Club de Catalunya and the President of the golf club Golf de Caldas and the Laureus Foundation Spain.
