David Crawford is both a Certified Management Accountant and a Canadian Certified Environmental Practitioner. He specializes in the integration of financial and non-financial performance measurement with operational plans. David’s environmental Games experience goes all the way back to the 1991 Western Canada Summer Games where he worked in waste management and recycling. After being seconded to the 1999 Pan American Games Organizing Committee in Winnipeg for 2 years, where he implemented various environmental programs, he served as an environmental Advisor to a Sponsor at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Games. His next multi-sport event experience was as a member of the 2002 North American Indigenous Games Organizing Committee where he learned about the importance environmental awareness and the recognition of the culture and history of Aboriginal people. Thinking his opportunity to work on multi-sport Games was over he then served as a project consultant to both Bid and Olympic Organizing Committees between 2003 and 2007. In late 2007 he joined the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games as a Director and subsequently led several departments.

As a result of his combined understanding of sustainability and business David has been invited to share his knowledge with professionals in Italy, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, the USA and several Canadian provinces. Additionally, he has lectured at colleges and universities and served as a guest speaker at conferences where he spoke about the environmental impacts of sport, product stewardship, strategic planning, triple bottom line reporting and corporate social responsibility issues.
