Sport, What's Next ?

Sport always goes faster and stretches the limit – that’s why you, as a key stakeholder in the world of sport, need to adapt and innovate to have your finger on the pulse of new trends. Be it “sportertainment”, the evolution of new sport practices, or the virtualization of sport through video games, the only way to stay in the race is to understand sport’s revolutionized playing field.

Remembering Barcelona ’92 and looking forward to London 2012, next year is truly an important milestone in the history of sport – a moment to reflect on how far we have come and where we are going. It’s time to put sustainability at the core of the sporting world and highlight all the best strategies to reach this objective. Hence the importance of community, philanthropy, education, legacy, and health issues that must be on the forefront of the Forum.

The Global Sports Forum Barcelona is at the heart of three intertwined disciplines that are constantly reshaping the traditional landscape of sport: the sport itself (the game), the business of sport, and its impact on society at large.

The 2012 edition will be about thinking out of the box and working together to enhance the future of sport. Through workshops, debates, networking sessions and entertaining demonstrations, you will have the opportunity to meet sport icons, international experts and stakeholders from key sporting institutions. Let’s share our thoughts and experience, learn and plan for the future, build relationships and tackle the pressing challenges that will emerge over the next decade.

Join us in Barcelona on March 7-9, 2012, and let’s try to answer “What’s next?” together!
