Double Olympic medalist in Judo
David Douillet is a French judoka born in Rouen, February 17th, 1969.
He won a bronze medal at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992 and became the first French world champion of judo heavyweight in 1993.
As French judoka the most successful in history, he won two Olympic titles in 1996 (Atlanta) and in 2000 (Sydney). David Douillet is quadruple world champion and European champion of judo heavyweight.
Also, he won competitions in all categories where no weight limit is imposed. He is engaged in the charity « Operation yellow pieces » with Bernadette Chirac.
Few years ago, he was elected the second favorite personality for French people. After a brief stint in television production companies, David Douillet lends his name for several brands of sports equipment. He is involved in politics and obtained primary responsibilities within the UMP.
He joined the executive board of the UMP in 2009 and has been a member of the French National Assembly since October 18th 2009.
